Tape removal

This treatment would have been hazardous to my health

without the generosity of Konservatorene. Tusen takk Terje!

Tape causes a lot of damage. There are many kinds of tapes, with different carriers (clear plastic, brown paper, etc) and different adhesives. Both the carrier and the adhesive beneath have to be removed from the page and/or book. Then the stain caused by the adhesive has to be removed. The best advice to follow is: Please don't put tape on archival materials!
