Mending Tears

Paper repair includes mending tears and filling losses. Sometimes the paper has to be humidified first, to ease wrinkles and make a better repair. Paper repair takes a very long time.

Not always easy to capture in a small photograph, but just to give the idea...

Fredrik 2. Bibel, 1589

All of the leaves were washed first

Kristian 4. Bibel, 1633

Not a perfect result, but much improved
